Wien Energie GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH, and is therefore indirectly owned by the City of Vienna. Furthermore, Wien Energie is subject to audits performed by the Group's Internal Audit Department, the Audit Division of the City of Vienna and by the Court of Audit.

Supervisory board

Pursuant to the criteria of Section 29 of the Austrian Companies Act (GmbH Gesetz), Wien Energie GmbH must appoint a supervisory board. The Supervisory Board of Wien Energie GmbH consists of six members elected during the General Assembly, as well as three employee representatives, which are appointed pursuant to Section 110 of the Labour Constitution Act (Arbeitsverfassungsgesetz). Four Supervisory Board meetings are held every year. In addition to these, the general management continually fulfils its obligation to provide information as stipulated in Section 28 of the Austrian Companies Act, obtaining the statutory or legally required consent of the Supervisory Board in cases where this approval is needed or for fundamental decisions.

(A) EnergieAllianz Austria GmbH (55 percent): Wien Energie GmbH (45 percent), EVN AG (45 percent), Energie Burgenland AG (10 percent)

  • Wien Energie GmbH: Wien Energie GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH. The City of Vienna (as a public corporation) wholly owns WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH.
  • EVN AG: The Province of Lower Austria (as a public corporation) is the majority shareholder of EVN AG with a stake of 51 percent. EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG holds 32.5 percent of shares in EVN AG. The remaining shares are in free float.
  • Energie Burgenland AG Burgenländische Landesholding GmbH has a 51 percent stake in BEWAG AG and Burgenland Holding AG 49 percent. Burgenländische Landesholding GmbH is wholly owned by the Province of Burgenland. Burgenland Holding AG is owned by EVN AG (73.63 percent), Wien Energie (5-10 percent) and Verbund AG (more than 10 percent). The remaining shares are in free float.

(B) Wien Energie GmbH (45 percent): WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH (100 percent)

  • WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH: The City of Vienna (as a public corporation) wholly owns WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH.
